CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Expert speakers and leaders in grazing management are invited to share their knowledge with more than 600 National Grazing Lands Conference attendees – primarily agricultural producers. NatGLC is currently accepting proposals for breakout sessions at the 9th National Grazing Lands Conference. All presenters are responsible for providing their own conference travel, registration and other incidental expenses. Producer presenters are eligible to apply for the available grazing lands producer scholarships.

The theme for 9NGLC is Expanding Grazing Horizons, which was selected to honor the work that has been done, while also encouraging progress to further care for and sustain grazing lands. This conference has a reputation for a wide variety of farmer & rancher led presentations, with at least 70% of the presentations made by those in the field. Individual speakers are encouraged to apply for a 25 minute presentation slot. Group/panel presentations can apply for a 55 minute slot. The following topic areas are considered priorities for the conference. Preference will be given to proposals that align with one (or more) of the priority areas:
Financial Impacts and Business Continuity - applied economics, succession planning, generational transition, management skills, practice implementation funding opportunities, etc.
Innovation - ROI on infrastructure, technology applications, regenerative agriculture, technical assistance needs, etc.
Land Health - soil health, conservation planning, plant health, prescribed burning, endangered species management/approaches, invasive species management, etc.
Marketing - direct-to-consumer marketing, supply chain programs, carbon programs or markets, attributes labeling/claims, sharing grazing stories with consumer audiences, etc.
Best Practices - drought tolerance and recovery, multi-species grazing, grazing cooperatives, benchmarking success, etc.

The National Grazing Lands Conference aims to foster collaboration, exchange best practices, and explore emerging trends and technologies in grazing land management. Each submission will be evaluated based on alignment with the conference theme and appeal to conference attendees. The target audience includes producers, academia, consumers, government agencies, conservationists, environmentalists, urban-based resource interests, grazing land managers, landowners and other stakeholders interested in effective and sustainable natural resources management systems. Conference participants will represent the public sector, natural resource agencies and entities, segments of the farming and livestock industry, and environmental conservation organizations. Proposals that encourage forward progress in grazing land management and stakeholder participation will be strongly considered. Preference will be given to unique proposals that conform to session topics and target audiences as outlined and/or proposals that bring forth compelling speakers or panelists. Selection and scheduling for breakout sessions will be at the discretion of the conference planning committee.

Proposals must be submitted by June 30, 2024
Accepted or declined proposals will be notified by July 15, 2024
All who are accepted to speak at 9NGLC will be required to participate in a pre-event virtual recording session with event organizers to make the presentation available on the NatGLC website following the conference
Finalized presentations, with permission to post, are due by October 15, 2024, to ensure material can be reviewed and approved
